Concerned about its ongoing deterioration, she photographed and transcribed the headstones, creating a digital archive with the aim of submitting a comprehensive survey to a national burial site research database. Her work highlights the vital role public historians play in safeguarding local heritage.

Jason Van Essen began developing an annotated bibliography on public history tailored for English-speaking readers . This ongoing project aims to provide accessible, curated resources that introduce key texts, themes, and debates in the field, making public history more approachable for a broader audience.
